Stories

In Hindi, "Kahani" means "story" and "Kahan" means "Where?"

I wonder if the two words are somehow etymologically related. If we tell stories to reach out toward something which cannot be present.

  1. Or perhaps it's a message about the importance of understanding the role of place, of physical context, in the stories we hear and tell?
